Countdown Begins

I can't believe it is already December. The time has just flown by. Mike and I are just beginning to think about Christmas shopping and we are very excited to be going home to visit family. I am especially looking forward to seeing Brad and Joey. Unfortunately we lost a friend this past week in a car accident and it really makes you think...how much time do we really have? She lost her life at such a young age and had so much going for her. Our thoughts and prayers are with Jasmine's family.

BUSY, BUSY, BUSY

Hello,
Life has been very crazy this last month or so. We have gone through the first month of bills and survived! Now we will have to see how we do during the winter. We have settled into the house and have started to put things up on the wall and make it our own. School has been busy for both of us. Mike has just finished coaching volleyball and soon he will be coaching basketball. His volleyball team won all of their tournaments. I have started the dreaded report cards for term 1. They are very time consuming and I have a hard time staying focused...that is why I am writing this blog right now. But my procrastination method seems to work each time...haha. We have started having fires in the backyard, luckily the weather has been nice enough for that. I have been busy making some final decisions on the wedding and trying to find some bridesmaid dresses. Jill and I started to make our song list as well. Our shag is coming up fast. I am thinking the turn out will be good...we even have quite a few people coming from out of town for it. I will be posting some new pics in the next few days. My mom has been on my case to show some pictures with people in it instead of just the house and the cats. I better get back to report cards :( Bye for now.

Update

Hello,
We thought we would give a little update on the house. We moved in one week ago today. So we are still working at unpacking and cleaning up. We have both been very busy with work, so haven't found much time to get things done. Mike has been busy coaching volleyball, playing volleyball and playing hockey...so I have been trying to organize when he is not home. Here is a picture of the outside of the house for those who were waiting to see it. I will be posting more pictures as we unpack so stay tuned! The cats are loving all the space, especially the stairs.

WE HAVE FINALLY SET A DATE!!!

So it has taken almost 10 years...but we have finally set a date for the wedding! We will be leaving Calgary to beautiful Riu Ochos Rios in Jamaica on March 20th, 2009. We have set our wedding date for March 25th at noon. We will have the ceremony, as well as the reception on the beach. Mike and I are very excited and Mike even suggested today that we stay for an extra week as a honeymoon...what a fabulous idea! Here are a few pictures of the resort.

Judging by the fact that you have likely seen the picture...the answer to your question is yes...we got another kitten. It was not really planned or anything, but a trip to get more food for Oliver led to us bringing home a little buddy for him. We were told by a breeder Mike knows that it would be about 2-3 weeks before they really get along. Oliver however is already showing Gordon (Ramsay) the rules of the house. Personally, I think they're moving the relationship quite quickly, don't believe me, take a look for yourself...

WOOOHOOO LONG WEEKEND!

I can't believe how fast the year has gone by. Mike and I are counting down the last few weeks of school. We are definitely ready for the summer and so are the kids. We are supposed to have really nice weather for the long weekend. Today it was 26 and it will be 30 degrees tomorrow. We will be hanging out with friends and hopefully organizing a little bit. We have to get the car fixed this weekend too. It is time to get the timing belt changed. Just when you think you can get ahead a little, something comes up...such is life. We will also be making some wedding plans this weekend and hopefully get some prices on some of the locations we are looking at. Then I get to look for wedding dresses!

UPDATE

Wow...it has been a while. Surprisingly not much is new here. Mike and I have just been working. We usually have a dinner party at least once a week with friends. We have been lucky enough to have some family visit over the last few months and got to take a trip to Edmonton. Not much is new with school. We went to the zoo a few weeks ago to see the new stingray exhibit and the kids had so much fun touching the stingrays. We were lucky enough to see them while they were still here. Unfortunately 36 stingrays have died in the last few days...suspected poisoning of the water. Only 7 are still living. CRAZY! Mike just started his hockey season and he would want me to tell everyone that he is the LEADING GOAL SCORER (after one game). I should say this now while he is still at the top...hahaha. Mike and I have both signed continuous contracts for the same schools for next year. So we seem to be set. We are looking forward to the summer and will hopefully be home for a few weeks to visit family and friends. We will try to post more often. I actually forgot we even had a blog.
